Tyson Fury

The controversy surrounding Fury isn’t likely to tarnish his reputation as a fighter, though. The fact that Tyson Fury has spoken out so strongly against homosexuality may be shocking to some.

“He’s a very dangerous opponent, he’s a clever boxer, he’s never been stopped, and he can punch, so Tyson has his work cut out for him." But I believe that Tyson is the best heavyweight in the world, and he’ll show that again with the way he takes care of Johnson. Johnson has been asking for this fight for a long time, and we have granted his wish unlike a lot of other fighters who have avoided him as he is a very dangerous fighter over 12 rounds.”

Former world heavyweight title challenger Johnson is coming to Belfast full of confidence, with his sights set on railroading Fury’s world title aspirations.

Johnson said: “I’m excited about the opportunity to step into the ring with Tyson Fury on December 1, in Belfast. It’s a fight that I’ve been looking to make for a long time. It’s going to be the best American fighter against the best fighter in the U.K.

“I give Tyson all the credit in the world for stepping up to the plate and taking the fight. This is the biggest fight of my career since my world title fight against Vitali Klitschko in 2009 and I look forward to giving the fans what they deserve, an action-packed, explosive, and exciting fight.”

“Tyson is a helluva fighter, but Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora will fight in Belfast on December 1, promoter Frank Warren announced. Fury (21-0, 15 KOs) and Chisora (26-7, 18 KOs), who have each held the European title at heavyweight, meet in a 12-round fight that will headline an HBO card.

Fury, 25, who is ranked No. 4 by the IBF, has won three fights in a row since back-to-back losses to now-retired former world champion David Haye. Fury's last fight was a second-round knockout of Joey Abell on May 9.

Chisora, 28, has lost three of his last four fights but beat Fury by unanimous decision in a grudge match on July 27 in London,

Tyson Fury Kevin Johnson

The heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury Kevin Johnson will take place on WealthTV/Channel 5 (UK), at 4:00 p.m. EST. The fight was originally slated for December 2009, but Vitali Klitschko had a change of heart and pulled out of the fight with an injury. Fury has vowed to avenge that night in Switzerland and has trained hard since then to ensure that he doesn't repeat his mistakes. Fury has an 82" reach, three inches longer than Johnson, who won't be able to keep Fury from unleashing his devastating left hook. BLH will have live coverage of this match-up between two giants of the ring.

Tyson Fury (20-0, 14 KOs), Britain's unbeaten heavyweight, takes on Kevin Johnson (27-3-1, 13 KOs) from the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on December 1st at 4 p.m. ET. Hennessy Sports® will sponsor a special edition of Super Channel Fights to air the fight.

Fury King

Heavyweight contender Tyson Fury will take a huge step toward a world title fight when he faces Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson in a 12-round international match.

After going the distance with WBC world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko in 2009, the tough American Johnson will return to Belfast to bolster his own world title credentials.

Fury vs. Johnson is a 10-round fight for the WBC International Silver Light Heavyweight title. The fight will be contested at a maximum weight of 175 pounds and is scheduled for October 3, 2016, at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Fury (21-0, 14 KOs) vs. Johnson (30-5, 17 KOs) is presented by Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions and sponsored by Salix Pharmaceuticals, BETDAQ, and Fetch. The card will also feature undefeated Belfast star Ryan Burnett, who defends his WBA International featherweight title against Mexican challenger Jesus Martinez, as well as former European champion Paul Hyland Jr., who takes on journeyman AJ Carter in a 10-round middleweight contest.

Since winning the Commonwealth title almost two years ago against Englishman Dereck Chisora, the 25-year-old Fury has successfully defended it three times. Fury boasts an impressive record of 21 wins with 14 knockouts from his 21 appearances inside the ring. He has also won all 15 of his professional contests held in Europe. Fury's last outing was in February 2016, when he defeated American Tommy Tyson via decision over 12 rounds in Belfast.

Tyson Fury is a young, unbeaten heavyweight with a growing reputation as one of the most promising fighters in the world. He seems to be on his way to gaining a title shot against Wladimir Klitschko, whose decision to fight him could mean that he’s underestimating Fury’s skills and determination. Though Tyson Fury has fought only in England thus far, he has the to break into the American market and become a star in a major fight with Klitschko

Tyson Fury’s fame outside of boxing circles was initially due to his controversial opinions on homosexuality and women—he called homosexual people “gay boys” and said that women are “slags” (the British term for “sluts”). He also said that he would agree to become a woman’s stepfather only if given the chance to sleep with her. His comments have been met with widespread derision from other boxers, including Klitschko, who called him “ignorant and uneducated.”

Tyson Fury Dereck Chisora

Chisora, 28, has lost three of his last four fights but beat Fury by unanimous decision in a grudge match on July 27 in London, Fury's only other fight of 2013. Their rematch was originally supposed to take place on Dec. 7 in Manchester, but it was postponed for undisclosed reasons. He has never seen anything like the “Kingpin” up close and personal. I’m on a mission to claim the heavyweight title, and Tyson Fury is in my way. I’m not Derek Chisora or Neven Pajkic. I’m the real deal, and Tyson will find that out on December 1. "Don't blink; it’s going to be a short night.”
